Your first spa day: what to bring and what to expect

Most first time guests worry about the wrong things: what to wear, whether to talk, how much to tip. Here is everything we tell friends before their first visit, so the only thing left to do is relax.

Bring less than you think

A swimsuit is the only thing you need. We give you a robe, slippers, a towel and a locker, and the changing rooms have shampoo, body wash, hair dryers and straighteners. If you wear contact lenses, bring a case; the steam room is kinder without them.

Arrive thirty minutes early

Not to fill in forms, but to slow down. Change, shower, and spend twenty minutes in the warm pool or the steam room. Your muscles will thank you on the table, and your therapist will find them easier to work with.

The best treatments start in the pool. Twenty warm minutes do half of my work for me.

In the treatment room

Your therapist will ask about pressure, aches and anything to avoid. Then they leave while you undress to your comfort level and lie under the warm sheet. Only the area being worked on is uncovered. Talk if you like, stay silent if you prefer; we follow your lead.

The relaxation lounge, where most guests spend an hour after their treatment.

After: take your time

Drink water, have tea, and lie down in the lounge. The pools and lounge are yours until close, and nobody will ask you to leave. Pay at the desk on your way out; tips are welcome but never expected.
